1. Quotes

  • We’ll send you a written quote before any work starts. It will say what’s included and the price.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days.
  • Anything not listed in the quote isn’t included. We’re happy to quote for extras.
  • We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.

2. Payment

  • 50% deposit before we start.
  • The other 50% when your website is ready to launch, before it goes live.
  • Invoices are due within 7 days.
  • Payment is by bank transfer. Our bank details are on every invoice.
  • If a payment is late, we may pause work until it’s paid. If we’ve arranged your hosting, we may also take the site offline until the payment is made.
  • Any ongoing costs, such as your domain, hosting we’ve arranged for you, or extra support, are billed as agreed in your quote.

3. Your content

  • You can supply your own logo, photos and text.
  • If you don’t have text, we can write simple wording for your pages. We’ll say in your quote if this is included.
  • If you don’t have photos, we’ll use free stock photos. We only use paid images if we’ve agreed this with you first.
  • You confirm you have the right to use anything you send us (for example, photos you didn’t take yourself).
  • You’re responsible for making sure the information on your site is accurate, such as prices, opening hours and allergen information.

4. Timescales

  • Most websites are live in about a week once we have all your content.
  • Bigger sites, or sites with bookings, may take longer. We’ll give you an estimate in your quote.
  • Delays in getting content or feedback to us will push the launch date back.
  • If we haven’t heard from you for 60 days, we may treat the project as finished and invoice for the work done.

5. Changes

  • One round of changes is included. This means you send us one list of changes after seeing your site, and we make them.
  • Extra changes after that are charged at £25 per hour.
  • We’ll always tell you the cost before doing extra work.
  • New features or pages that weren’t in the quote are quoted separately.

6. Your domain

  • Your domain name (for example yourbusiness.co.uk) is registered in your name, so you own it.
  • We can set it up for you. It typically costs about £10–£15 a year, which we pass on to you at cost. Or, if you prefer, you can pay the registrar directly.
  • Keeping your domain renewed is your responsibility, unless we’ve agreed to manage it for you.

7. Hosting

Hosting is where your website lives online, and we’re flexible about how you do it. You can choose to:

  • buy your own hosting – we’ll recommend reliable providers, so you have full access and control, and we’ll set your site up there
  • ask us for advice – we’ll look at what your business needs and suggest the best fit for you
  • leave it with us – we’ll arrange suitable hosting for you, quoted to your needs

If we arrange your hosting, we’ll set out what’s included and what it costs in your quote. We can’t promise a site will never go down, as that depends on the hosting provider too.

8. Ownership and leaving

  • Once you’ve paid in full, the website is yours, whichever hosting option you choose.
  • If you want to move to another web designer or host, we’ll hand over your site files and logins free of charge.
  • If we’ve arranged your hosting, please give us 30 days’ notice to cancel it.
  • We may show your website in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
  • Any plugins, themes or tools we use stay under their own licences.

9. Cancelling

  • You can cancel at any time by telling us in writing (email is fine).
  • If you cancel before we start work, we’ll refund your deposit in full.
  • If you cancel after we’ve started, you pay for the work done so far. The deposit is not refundable once work has begun.
  • We may cancel if you don’t pay, or if you ask us to put anything illegal or offensive on your site. If we cancel for another reason, we’ll refund any money for work we haven’t done.

10. Our liability

  • We’ll do the work with reasonable care and skill.
  • Our total liability to you is limited to the fee you paid us for the project.
  • We’re not responsible for lost business, lost profits or other indirect losses.
  • We’re not responsible for problems caused by third parties, such as hosting outages, plugin faults or changes Google makes.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law doesn’t allow it, for example for fraud.

11. General

  • These terms, together with your quote, are the full agreement between us.
  • We may update these terms. Changes won’t affect a project already agreed.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any disputes.
